About our team
Our team has more than 15 years of experience in peptide chemistry and stays up to date by taking courses and attending international conferences. This helps us follow the latest developments in the field and apply current knowledge to our work. Our dedicated technical staff facilitate daily operations and is supported by a management team embedded in Immunology and Cell and Chemical Biology departments.

Cami Talavera Ormeño (CCB)
Since 2016 I’m working as a senior technician in the peptide facility of the Department Cell and Chemical Biology in the group of Dr. G.J. van der Heden van Noort and Dr. M.P.C. Mulder. My main tasks include peptide synthesis and optimization of peptides and small proteins up to 90 AA using our different types of synthesizers. In addition, I perform the quality control of these products using mass spectrometry and liquid chromatography (UPLC-MS). I’m also involved in the purification of synthetic peptides using (semi-)preparative HPLC. My other tasks include managing our chemical inventory, maintenance of the synthesizers, lab management and administrative work. Assistance in the above is provided by Jelle de Vries and Bjorn van Doodewaerd.
Natasja Dolezal (IMMU)
Since 2010 I’m working as a technician in the peptide facility of the Department Immunology in the group of Dr.J.W. Drijfhout and since 2024 in the group of Dr. M. Verdoes. My main tasks include synthesis of the peptides (including modified and labeled peptides) using different types of synthesizers. In addition, I perform the quality control of these products using mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF) and liquid chromatography (UPLC-MS). I’m also involved in the purification of synthetic peptides using preparative HPLC. My other tasks include managing our chemical inventory, maintenance of the synthesizers, lab management and administrative work.
Robert Cordfunke (IMMU)
Since 2008 I’m working as research technician in the peptide facility of the Department Immunology in the group of dr. J.W. Drijfhout and since 2024 in the group of Dr. M. Verdoes. My tasks include peptide library technology (synthesis and screening of arrays of millions of peptides) for the identification of new peptides using amino acid sequencing using Edman degradation. In addition, I perform quality control of synthetic peptides using mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF) and liquid chromatography (UPLC-MS). I’m also involved in the purification of synthetic peptides using preparative HPLC and labeling of synthetic peptides with different kind of fluorescent or near infrared dyes. I also perform peptide-HLA binding studies and HLA monomer and tetramer production.
